On September 20th the Peace Islands Institute Center for Interfaith affairs cosponsored a free public forum on cultivating a multifaith understanding with Gratz College at its campus in Melrose Park, PA.

The forum entitled “Creating Space for Faith” sought to facilitate dialogue on the necessity of interfaith cooperation between the local Jewish, Muslim, Catholic, and Protestant communities. The panel consisted of 3 speakers, Pastor Linnéa K. Clark of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Melrose Park, Dr. Philip Cunningham, Director of the Institute for Jewish-Catholic Relations at St. Joseph University, and Feyzi Eygoren, the Outreach Coordinator for Peace Islands Institute. Dr. Ruth Sandberg, the Director of Jewish-Christian Studies at Gratz College, moderated the forum and also shared notes on interfaith dialogue from the Jewish perspective.

An interactive and eager audience welcomed the panelists as they first spoke briefly about dialogue to the audience and then answered any questions it had to offer. The afternoon was capped with a small reception accompanied by coffee and refreshments.
