The Dialogue Summit 2024 took place at Gettysburg College, where Peace Islands had the valuable opportunity to hear speakers and learn from experiences shared by other dialogue institutes across the United States. The program welcomed almost 300 people from all around the United States, aiming to come together, discuss, and create solutions for contemporary problems affecting humanity. Our executive director, Said Selmanlar, spoke on the significance of dialogue, mutual respect, and empathy, highlighting how our international trips foster cultural exchange in multiple sessions. Additionally, our Program Director, Vonya S. Womack, underscored the importance of cultural exchange events and their impact, drawing on past experiences to illustrate actionable outcomes.
The seminars, attended by college students, young professionals, and volunteers, provided a vibrant platform for discussing ideas, fostering collaboration, and learning from each other. Inspired by the weekend’s events, we are deeply motivated to continue fostering positive change in our communities.
Organizing such an event with our partners further strengthens our commitment to advancing dialogue and understanding.
